Database Identification

When files are opened, Ibidem automatically checks to see if the database for that file (if any) is available in the location specified; if not, it finds the new location (if any), and automatically uses that instead. This makes moving files between systems where the folder structure differs transparent.

Similarly, Ibidem searches for the correct record in a database if the record number in a citation does not match the record number in the database. For more information about this mechanism for record identification, see Colors Used in Citations.
