If you have been using Citation bibliographic software, records can be imported into an Ibidem database from your Citation database.
The first step is to use Citation to create an export file that contains the records that you want to import into your Ibidem database.
| 1 | Open the Citation database you want to import into Nota Bene |
| 2 | Click Generate, Bibliography from Datafile. |
| 3 | Make the following selections in the Bibliography dialog |
| • | Under "Publishing Style," select Custom |
| • | In the text box on the next line, type in C:\NBWIN\CIT2NBW.PUB or use the Browse button to browse to the CIT2NBW.PUB file in the main Nota Bene program folder (usually Nbwin) of the drive on which you installed Nota Bene (usually C:). (If you installed Nota Bene in a folder other than Nbwin or on a drive other than C, you should substitute the correct drive and folder.) |
| • | Click the arrow to the right of "Write Bibliography to:" and select Clipboard. |
| 4 | Open a new Nota Bene file and paste the contents of the clipboard into the Nota Bene file (press Ctrl+V or click Edit, Paste). |
| 5 | Save the file, choosing any filename and any location. This is the datafile you will use to import records to your Ibidem database. Remember the location and name of this file. |
Once your export file is created, use the Import Records dialog to import the records. Open Ibidem, open the database to which you wish to add the records and click File, Import Records. For more detailed instructions on this dialog, see Importing Records.
