Backup Orbis

An Orbis textbase consists of the files that you have indexed and the textbase management files that were established when you created your Orbis textbase. The management files consist of several files with a filename that is chosen by the user when the textbase is created and different extension that are assigned by the program. The management files are found in Nbwin\Orbis\Textbase or in the folder selected when the textbase is created.

You should backup the files that you have indexed as you would back up any files in any program. Copy them to another computer or flash drive. You do not need to maintain backup copies of your textbase management files because the textbase can be easily recreated on a different computer if the files that you want to include in the textbase are accessible. Please note that this is not true of Ibidem. Ibidem databases must be backed up. See Ibidem Backup.
