Automatic Textbases

 

A textbase is a set of files to be searched. Automatic textbases can be searched with no need for you to create the textbase. Use Popup Orbis to select one the following textbases which will be created automatically and available for you to search.

 

Recent Files: The 100 files that have been most recently edited in Nota Bene. The files listed in the Alt+D Document Dialog Bar are the files that will be included.
Current Folder: All the files in the folder from which the active file was opened.
Files in Current Folder and Subfolders: All the files in the folder from which the active file was opened, and all the files in all subfolders, and subfolders within those subfolders.
Current+Other Files in Manuscript: The files that are part of the same manuscript as the active file. The active file must be part of a set of Manuscript Files.
Ibidem Note-Taking Files: All note-taking files linked to the Ibidem database in the active file. The active file must be linked to an Ibidem database.
Ibidem Records: The actual bibliographic records of the active Ibidem database. The active file must be linked to an Ibidem database.
Radius Captured Web Pages: If you have the Radius module, then the HTML versions of locally saved web pages are automatically indexed. See Radius Automatic Textbase.

If you have purchased Orbis+, then .DOC, .DOCX, .RTF, .PDF and .HTML, as well as .NB and .TXT files will be included. If you have not purchased Orbis+, then only .NB and .TXT files will be included in the textbase. Orbis+ can be purchased by going to www.notabene.com and logging in.

 

To select one of these automatic textbases for your search:

 

1Click Tools, Popup Orbis or press F4 to open Popup Orbis.
2Click the drop down list at the top of the dialog and select the textbase that you wish to search.
3To search the automatic textbase that you have selected, enter your search terms and press the Refresh/Begin Search button. See Popup Orbis.
