Table Commands in Show Codes View

Entering the CT (cellular table) command automatically enters other commands that define the boundaries of the columns. Other commands are CO (column) and EC (end column). Using the menu to create a table automatically enters all three of these commands. In addition, the GU command defines the space between the text and the borders of cellular table. These commands, like all formatting commands, can be viewed by going to Show Codes View. Editing can be done in Show Codes View, but most people will find that is is easier and more reliable to edit the format of a table by using the menu. Open the Tables dialog by placing your cursor on a table and clicking Format, Tables, Table Editor.

In summary, the table commands are as follows:

CT starts the table.

CO1 ... CO12 designates the beginning of a new column in each row. CO1 is not used in the first row as the CT command defines the first column in the first row.

EC indicates the end of the very last cell.

GU x,y where x is the space between columns (text to border to text) and y is the space between outside border and the text (i.e., the space between the the left border of the first column and the text or the space between the right border of the last column and the right edge of the space available for text).
