Printing Manuscript Files

The easiest way to print a manuscript file is to open the manuscript text file and use the Print dialog (click File, Print or press Ctrl+P) to print it as you would print any file.

Those who prefer to use the action line can use the PRINT command as follows:

1Press F9 to clear the action line
2Type Print @book.msc (where "book" is the name of the manuscript control file)
3Press F10 to begin printing files.

Your component files will print with consecutive page, note and counter numbering unless you have inserted a fixed numbering command in any of the individual files. In order to view the correct format and approximate the correct value while editing the following can be inserted into the individual files:

sf ?#        (set note numbering command)
dc #=?#        (set counter numbering command)
sp ?#        (set page numbering command)

During printing the actual formats and values will be determined by the file's place in the manuscript. During editing the commands will display the correct style of the number starting with the suggested approximate value. The first file in the manuscript must have the proper set number command without a question mark to set the desired format and starting number.
