If a note-taking file has been generated for a record in your Ibidem database, you can return to it at any time and continue taking notes.
| 1 | Open the bibliographic database and select the record for which you previously generated a note-taking file. |
| 2 | Open the note-taking file in one of the following ways: |
| • | Click the Open Note-Taking Link button to the right of the Create New Link button on the Ibidem toolbar at the top of the screen. |
| • | Double-click on the green "Note-Taking Link" in the Note Link (L#) field of the Ibidem record. |
| • | Click Links, Open (or press Ctrl+K), select the link to open, and click Open. |
| • | Right-click in the Note Link field, then click Open Link. |
| 3 | Edit the file the way you would edit any Nota Bene file. Save it as you would save any file (Ctrl+S or File, Save). |
If you find that the Open Note-Taking Link button is grayed out and not active and if you find that there is no green "Note-Taking Link" in the Note Link (L#) field of the Ibidem record, that means that no note-taking file has been created for this record. Click the Create New Link button (a multi-colored button on the Ibidem toolbar at the top of the screen) to create a new note-taking file.
