Text can be moved or copied by saving defined text as a new file. This feature is useful to move or copy large blocks of text and for "boiler plate" text (text that will be used repeatedly).
| 1 | the text you would like to move or copy. |
| 2 | Press F9 to access the action line. |
| 3 | Type sad filename (save defined block) |
| 4 | Press F10 to save the text to a new filename. |
| 5 | Delete the defined block if you want to move the text; skip this step if you want to copy the text. |
| 6 | Move the cursor to the location where the text will be inserted. |
| 7 | Press F9 to access the action line. |
| 8 | Type me filename (merge) The file name chosen in step 3 must be used. |
| 9 | Press F10 to merge the text into the file at the new location. |
The text which has been saved to a new filename will be retained and steps 6 - 9 can be repeated at any time to merge the text into any open document. To append or attach a block of text to a saved file, see Append.
