Character Text Properties

With Lingua, you can change a single letter so that it is displayed and printed as a small cap, a superscript or subscript, a top or bottom fraction (numerator or denominator) or a rotated character (upside down). Three levels of superscript and subscript are available. This allows superscripting of superscripted text (as in UBS Greek NT apparatus).

1Place the cursor immediately after the letter you want to edit.
2Click Tools, Lingua, Character Text Properties (or press Ctrl+Shift+T). The Character Properties dialog will appear on your screen.
3Click the radio button corresponding to the way you want the character to display and print.
4Click OK

An immediate command will be issued changing the display and printing of the character as if the character had been entered like any other character, by typing it in.  No embedded commands are inserted in the document.  To undo the character properties you have selected, and return to normal, you can repeat the process, selecting the "normal" radio button, or you can merely delete the character with the special character properties and retype it.
