The Transfer Records feature on the Ibidem File menu allows you to append records from one Ibidem database to another. You can import some or all of the records in the source database to a new or an existing Ibidem database.
| 1 | Check desired records in the database. If you want to copy some but not all records from one database to another, check the records to be copied in the first database (or you can check the records that you do not want to copy). |
| 2 | Click File, Transfer Records. The Transfer Records dialog will open. |
| 3 | Select which records to copy: the currently selected record, checked records, or unchecked records, or all records. |
| 4 | Select the destination database, the database to which the new records will be added. |
| 5 | If you would like to check for duplicates before adding records to your database, click Check Append. This will open the Ibidem: Importing Records -- Processing Duplicates dialog and begin the process of checking for duplicates. See Duplicate Detection. If you do not need to check for duplicates, click Fast Append. This will add the marked records to your database without checking for duplicates. |
If you want to transfer records from another format (e.g. Zotero or Endnote) to an Ibidem database, see Importing Records.
If you want to export Ibidem records to RIS format, see Exporting Records.
