Colored boxes can be drawn around text. However, these colored boxes only work within a "span." When there is any change in font, font size, style (bold, italics, etc.), or language, the box ends automatically. The boxes also do not wrap across lines.
To add a colored box around a word or phrase:
| 1 | Place your cursor where you want the box to begin, or a block of text to be boxed (keeping in mind that the box cannot extend across lines or changes in font, etc.). |
| 2 | Click Format, Color, Begin Box Around Text or press press Ctrl+9 (using the number key at the top of your keyboard, not the number key on the pad at the right and not F9). The Boxes Around Text dialog will open. |
| 3 | Select the thickness and the color you want, and then click Start Box. |
| 4 | Move your cursor to the point where you want the box to end. Click Format, Color, End Box Around Text or press press Ctrl+0 (using the number key at the top of your keyboard, not the number key on the pad at the right and not the letter O). |
