Orbis Properties: Character Type

 

The Orbis Properties dialog is opened when you click File, Nexus Options, View/Set Properties from the Orbis screen with a textbase open. The following options and settings are available on the Character Type tab of the Orbis Properties dialog:

 

Alphabet drop list

Define the alphabet to use for the textbase.

 

Standard Character

Standard Characters (all characters on white portion of grid) will be indexed as normal characters in words.

 

Fixed Separator

Characters and symbols on grey portion of grid are fixed word separators.

 

Custom Separator

Characters and symbols on red portion of grid are recognized as characters separating words, and are not included in the index.

 

Keyword Symbol

Characters and symbols on green portion of grid are recognized as characters marking keywords.

 

Trim

Characters and symbols on yellow portion of grid are ignored if they occur at the end of a word, but included in indexing if they occur in the middle of words.

 

Ignore

Characters and symbols on aqua portion of grid are ignored.

 

To change any of the settings on the Character Type dialog, click the radio button for the type of character you want to change, and then click on the character in the grid. The character will display the new setting with the changed color coding.
