Once a table has been created, the Cells tab of the tables dialog is active. Open the Tables dialog by clicking Format, Tables, Table Editor. Click on the Cells tab to edit a row. Your changes will apply only to the selected row. If you wish to make changes to the entire table, use the Entire Table tab.
Select Cell: Place your cursor in a cell and click this button to select the cell.
Top of Cell: Click this button to move cursor to top of cell.
Bottom of Cell: Click this button to move cursor to bottom of cell.
Cell Above: Click this button to move cursor to the cell above.
Cell Below: Click this button to move cursor to the cell below.
Previous Cell: Click this button to move cursor to the previous cell.
Next Cell: Click this button to move cursor to the next cell.
Straddle Rows/Columns: Use the buttons in this section to combine two cells, making one cell that straddles two columns or one cell that straddles two rows. Click one of the 4 inner buttons to combine two cells. Click one of the 4 outer buttons to separate cells that have previously been combined. Move your cursor to hover over a button to see its exact function.
Draw Bottom Border/Line: Click this button to draw a line at the bottom of a cell. You will be given options for how to format the line.
Set/Override Cell Color: Click this button and the Colors dialog will open so that you can choose the background color for the cell.
