Within the structure of a framework or an academic style, up to three levels of bulleted subpoints can be inserted in the body text. Before inserting the bulleted, subpoints, you must define the type of bullet to be used.
To define the bullets for a document that has a framework or academic style:
| 1 | Click Format, Framework/Outline. If prompted, specify where the changes should take effect (e.g., at beginning of document or at cursor position). |
| 2 | The Current Document Framework dialog will appear. Click Edit. |
| 3 | The Document Framework/Outline dialog will appear. Click Bulleted Points in the lower left corner. |
| 4 | The Bullets Within Frameworks dialog will appear. |
| 5 | Select the bullets that you want to use for all 3 levels as follows: |
| • | Click the first radio button and then click the bullet you want to use for the first level of bullet. The bullet should be displayed in the box under the first radio button. |
| • | Click the second radio button and then click the bullet you want to use for the second level. The bullet should be displayed in the box under the second radio button. |
| • | Click the third radio button and then click the bullet you want to use for the third level. The bullet should be displayed in the box under the third radio button. |
After the bullets are defined, they can be inserted by placing your cursor in the body text area of a framework or academic style and pressing Ctrl+Shift+F1 or Ctrl+Shift+F2 or Ctrl+Shift+F3. Alternatively, you can click Insert, Outline Level, Bulleted Subpoint, Level 1 (or Level 2 or Level 3). Level 1 bullets can be inserted by clicking the Bullet button on the formatting toolbar at the top of the Nota Bene screen.
