Autosave/Backup Default Settings

The default settings for autosave and backup files can be changed. For example, you can direct the program to save the autosav#.tmp files in any folder you choose. The .bak files cannot automatically be saved in a different folder, but this feature can be turned off.

To adjust the autosave or backup default settings:

1Click Tools, Preferences
2The Preferences dialog box will appear on your screen. Highlight Autosave and click the Set button.
3The Autosave and Backup Defaults dialog box will appear on your screen.
Change the frequency of the autosave backups by typing in different minimum and maximum numbers. After the minimum time, Nota Bene will automatically save the file if you are not typing. If you are typing, the program will wait until you pause or until the maximum time is reached.
Specify a different folder in which autosave files are to be saved by typing a new drive and directory in the Autosave Path window.
The creation of backup files to a bak extension when you save can be turned off by clearing the check box.
4Click OK. Close the Preferences dialog box by clicking Close (or by clicking the X in the top right corner).

The new defaults will be in effect immediately.
