Auto Updates

If an update to the version of the program that you have purchased is available, you will be notified. The program automatically checks the Nota Bene web site each time you open Nota Bene. If an update is found, you will see a dialog the next time you start Nota Bene that gives you three options:

Details — Click to view a web page that gives you a list of new features and/or fixes. You can also go to this page at any time by clicking Help, Update Options.

Yes — Download now. Updates will be installed immediately after you agree to accept them, without requiring you to access a web page, log in, and then download and run the full installation program. Only the files that have been modified are updated (saving download time). After the files are updated, Nota Bene will start immediately.

No — Do not update your version of Nota Bene now, but instead continue starting the currently installed release.

We recommend that you select Yes. Doing so will have no effect on your files, databases or customizations, and it will give you the latest improvements to the program.

If you hear that an update has been released, and you have not received notification, you can manually check for updates by clicking Help, Update Options and then the Check Updates button.

If you do not want the program to check for updates, you can turn this feature off by clicking Help, Update Options and choosing "Never (Check Manually as Desired)." You can click the View Changes button to view a list of the changes in each update.

If for any reason you want to install a full release (e.g., on a new computer) you can go to the order form, log in, and then select Previous Orders/Downloads. The full release will be available for as long as the version you purchased is the main shipping version.
