Nota Bene Workstations
Scholar’s Workstation edition of NB includes the Nota Bene word processor,
Ibidem, Orbis and IbidPlus. Lingua Workstation adds
multilingual support for Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew, Phonetic characters and more
to Scholar's Workstation.
Version 9 is our main shipping version. We also have
a beta edition of version 10. If you buy v9 now, you will be able to download v9, v10 (beta), or

Archiva
Archiva is the collective name for a series of web-research and data-capture and conversion modules.
There are currently two versions of Archiva:
Archiva Premium:
* Books — search the holdings of hundreds of university and research
libraries simultaneously from within Nota Bene, and save the results in Ibidem format
* Articles —
capture bibliographic citations from journal articles and chapters in books from major on-line research
databases (for example, JSTOR, Project Muse, EBSCO Host, and countless more)
Archiva Platinum:
Archiva Platinum includes Archiva Premium and adds the following:
* Bibliography Converter — convert already formatted electronic bibliographies in selected styles to Ibidem
field-structured format
* ISBN Converter — convert ISBN numbers to Ibidem format (ISBN numbers
can be scanned using a handheld barcode scanner or typed or pasted)
* Web Page Text Capture —
captures and structures content from non-bibliographic web pages (for example, NY Times or Washington

NB BookShelf
The NB Bookshelf is a series of public domain texts (over 200 in all) selected from
the American Library Association's reading checklists for college students and
university course syllabi for undergraduate degree programs. These texts come in
two formats: (a) text files that are instantly searchable by a prebuilt Orbis textbase
(which can be installed and then activated immediately, without any effort)
and (b) high-quality e-ditions, each of which has been carefully formatted as an
Adobe Acrobat PDF file, complete with page numbers and hyperlinked contents,
using high quality (and thus very readable) classic publishing fonts.

Extended Alphabets
Additional languages are available for those who work in near eastern,
classical, and biblical studies. These modules enable you to work in the
supported language in Nota Bene proper, in Ibidem (the bibliographic
database program) and Orbis (the text-retrieval system), just as you can
already do in Greek, Hebrew, and Cyrillic. Included in each are everything
you need to work in that language (fonts, keyboard drivers, rendering
tables, dead-accent tables, right-to-left text entry [Syriac only], and
similar functions). You must have Lingua Workstation 9.0 to use these alphabets.

Arabic, Farsi/Persian, and Urdu
Support for the Arabic alphabet is available as an add-on module to Lingua.
Once installed/activated, Arabic is available in all parts of Lingua Workstation.
You can write a whole document in Arabic, use Ibidem to generate citations and
bibliographies (using the existing style-manual formats), and use Orbis to
search through multiple documents for an Arabic word or words. You can also
mix Arabic and English (or other languages, including other right-to-left
languages, such as Hebrew and Syriac [optional]) in the same document, and even
on the same line. The Nota Bene Arabic module requires Windows XP or Vista, and works
with Arabic-enabled Unicode fonts such as Times New Roman, Arial, and Tahoma
(and others you can download from the web). Among other things, the Arabic
module supports full automatic contextualization (selection of proper character
form), automatic justificaion using tatweel, placement of vowels and other
modifiers over any character (in any combination), and a choice of regular or
mnemonic (or user-customized) layouts for each supported language.

The Nota Bene Biblical Texts are designed to work with Orbis. Texts can
therefore be searched at lightning speed. Whether basic look-ups or complex
searches utilizing Boolean terms (and, or, not etc), Biblical Texts can now be
explored as never before. Results can be inserted directly into open documents.
Lingua Workstation is required for Hebrew or Greek texts. Scholar's Workstation
or Lingua Workstation is required for English and Latin texts.
