We do not have a Mac version of the program, but now that Macs use an Intel chip, and applications like Boot Camp and Parallels allow Mac users to run Windows applications, anybody should be able to use Nota Bene on a new Mac. We have received reports from users who have used NB on new Intel- powered Macs, and the consensus is that the program runs just as well on the Mac as it does on the PC. You will need a recent version of Windows installed on the Mac, and either Parallels, VM Fusion, or Boot Camp. We currently have no in-house Macs (this may change), and so there may be limitations to the support that we can offer if you encounter a problem that is related to using NB on a Mac. We can provide support for the kind of issues that might affect any NB user, but not for issues that are specifically related to the Mac platform. The only issue that people are reporting to us is that (on Parallels at least) you cannot open NB files from (or store to) the folder that is shared by Windows and Mac. That's to say, you have to store NB files in the Windows folder, but not in the shared folder. This should not be much of an obstacle, however, since (a) Mac software cannot normally operate on NB files in any case, and (b) you can always copy them back and forth using operating system copy commands if needed.
One word of caution: Preliminary reports (we will amend this web page as new updated information becomes available) are that while programs such as Parallels and VM Fusion will run 64-bit Windows 7, they will not properly run the XP Mode required to run NB on 64-bit Windows 7. Accordingly, if you choose to use Windows 7 as your Windows version on a Mac, you should install a 32-bit version of Windows 7 (or Vista, or XP). See the Windows 7 page for full details.
